In the era of the 1980s-minded Stranger Things and enduring praise of old Spongebob Squarepants episodes, it feels like just about everyone is feeling nostalgic. Now, fashion company Kith and its owner Ronnie Fieg are getting in on the action. Already known for celebrating nostalgia in fashion, yesterday, Kith announced its collaboration with Power Rangers ahead of next year’s big-screen reboot of the franchise. With only a teaser trailer of the reboot released so far— with mere glimpses of the Rangers’ new, 21st century suits—the collection instead venerates the 1990s original, with aesthetics of the show’s original costumes.
The line includes sweatshirts with Power Rangers helmets adorning the sleeves and shirts mixing the Kith logo with the show’s. The project is a personal one for Ronnie Fieg, a self-proclaimed Power Rangers fan who believes “it’s important for us to pay homage to any of the things that made us who we are today.”
Gigi Hadid has already been photographed wearing Power Rangers gear. On Friday, October 21, the Kith x Power Rangers collection hits the streets, going on sale in select Kith stores at 11 a.m. EST—and surely selling out soon after. No word yet on when Rocko’s Modern Life will get the runway treatment.
