‘Quantum Break’ is About Messing with Time to Fix Mistakes (and Kick Ass)

Now that the formerly Xbox-exclusive Quantum Break has actor Shawn Ashmore as its lead, it’s making sure to give him a workout. In the trailer above, he gets to feel bad about the death of his brother, played by Dominic Monaghan, who was killed by Aidan Gillen from Game of Thrones. Also, Shawn gets to put on his bad-ass face and stop time.

That’s the basics of Quantum Break as we know them, anyway: something’s up with time, but player character Jack Joyce can manipulate it to wreck dudes. And the implication that dudes get wrecked is definitely in this trailer. Sounds like Joyce’s ultimate goal will to be to find a way back in time to stop Charlie from Lost’s death at the hands of Littlefinger, also. It’ll definitely involve shooting a bunch of those helmeted paramilitary folks.

Publisher Microsoft announced today that Quantum Break will hit store shelves on April 5, but it’s not an Xbox One exclusive anymore—it’ll hit PC as well, and you’ll be able to share your saved games across both platforms.
