We always like to joke that everything in Australia is trying to kill us. But as it turns out, even the creatures we didn’t know existed are too. Recently, Mark Wong, an invertebrate zoologist, was searching for spiders in New South Wales, Australia and came across this funnel-web spider that is incredibly rare and poisonous. Normally this species is entirely black, but Wong isn’t sure what caused this new red mutation. Despite his new discovery, this spider is extremely creepy and something we never want to cross paths with.
