There’s a real-life fight club in New York City, and it looks like the most violent good time. With matches taking place at different spots around the city, photographer Devin Yalkin has caught the action since November 2010 with his series “Old One Two”. Entirely unsanctioned, the club has every kind of fighter, from models to millionaires, from marines to hipsters. Lively crowds of fighter friends and blood splatter enthusiasts cheer on the mayhem. Brawlers enter the ring leaving nothing behind. They’re there to thrash and get it all out.
Yalkin’s series has been covered and celebrated by Time and The New York Times, and rightfully so. Look at the gritty poetry of his work. Boxing’s never looked so feverish yet harmonious.
