Drake’s record-breaking 2017 Billboard Music Award sweep on Sunday night awarded the Canadian powerhouse 13 awards while also handing him the title of most wins in a single year; thereby, surpassing Adele (who previously held court with 12 wins). In addition to his well-deserved sweep, we couldn’t help but notice Drizzy certainly made the rounds, posing with nearly as many equally enthusiastic guests and performers as he won awards.
Peep a round-up of his monumental night. First he posed with actress Kate Beckinsale, whose priorities are clearly different than Drizzy’s. While Drake is illuminated from his win, Beckinsale appears to be struggling to keep the Hollywood glow, stating “one of us has incredibly itchy tits from their outfit.”
Drake implies his father, with whom his is photographed, is a big fan of fellow-Canadian Celine Dion.”
We can’t decipher whether Drake or Prince Michael Jackson, who presented Drake with the award for Top Artist, is more excited to pose.
Musical collaborator DJ Khaled makes sure to give a shout out to his son (six-month-old Executive Producer) Asahd Tuck Khaled.
Rapper Desiigner just states it plain and simple.
Comedian Kevin Hart closely nails a wholly warm-hearted congratulations, but he can’t resist calling Drake out, stating “P.S you sweated the left side of your sweater out.”
I would normally take this moment to trash or tease my brother @champagnepapi but today you should be celebrated….Im happy as hell for you man. Continue to put on for our generation. Proud of you & your accomplishments tonight. Keep pushing pimp….P.S you sweated the left side of your sweater out 😂😂😂😂 #friendssupportfriends #DopePic
Who knows what’s going on with the facial expressions of Drake and Baka in this photo, but it pricelessly captures the evening.
And, of course, Drake proudly poses with his golden army.
Drake took home the well-deserved sweep, which included awards for Top Artist, Top Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Song Sales Artist, Top Streaming Songs Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Tour, Top Billboard 200 Album…you get the idea. In addition to his three epic on-air acceptance speeches for Top Male Artist (which he accepted from Kate Beckinsale), Top Billboard 200 Album (for “Views”) (where he complimented Vanessa Hudgens, Ludacris, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj and gave a shout out to his father in his speech), and Top Artist of the Year (where he was accompanied by his father and squad on stage), Drake also performed “Gyalchester” atop the Bellagio Fountain with Baka (Not Nice) in a theatrical display of water, lights, flames, and fireworks, which you can watch below.
