If Twitter is good for anything – and, honestly, I find myself reevaluating that possibility every other day – the gargantuan social media platform is great at sullying one’s youthful memories with a steady stream of mass parodying and visual puns. This morning the world took aim at Charles Schultz’ beloved Peanuts gang – not for the first time, I’m sure.

With the holidays coming up, the ever-popular Peanuts specials will once again hit the airwaves, starting with the most well known, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Surely in anticipation of that somber, nostalgia-inducing half-hour, some quick-witted tweeter decided to kick off a run of #rejectedpeanutsspecials, and, so, a new, trending non-topic is born.

As a lifelong devotee of Charlie Brown and Co., I can admit that many of these are pretty damn funny. I’ll leave you with ten of the more clever pictorials.
