Step aside, Janet Leigh: the modern Marion Crane has turned up to check into A&E’s Bates Motel, and she’s literally an Unapologetic Good Girl Gone Bad. Yes, Rihanna is taking on the role of the victim of the most unfortunate shower in movie history.

Entertainment Weekly has the first look at the new-look Marion—aka the woman who came into Norman Bates’ life after stealing money from her boss, only for things to end up really not going her way—with Bates Motel executive producer Kerry Ehrin promising that the show isn’t out to just remake Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho in its fifth season.

“We’re taking threads of that story and definitely using them so it’s recognizable; it’s just where we go with it is very different,” Ehrin said. “Norman is in an incredibly intense and interesting place that we’ve built him to when that sequence of episodes starts… He’s in a very fragile and lonely place, and Marion Crane is a charismatic woman, she’s super present when she’s with him and she’s very attractive—all those things are exactly what he needs right at this moment.”

Well, “exactly what he needs” might not be the best way to put it, when talking about a mentally unstable potential murderer who’s obsessed with his dead mother, but what do I know? The fifth and final season of Bates Motel debuts Monday, February 20 on A&E.
