R.L. Stine, acclaimed an insanely prolific author of the Goosebumps series, announced yesterday during a Reddit AMA that he would be teaming up with Marvel. Yes, the man who traumatized so many of us with his show The Nightmare Room and the hundreds of Goosebumps titles he’s penned since 1992, said, “I’m writing a series of comic books for Marvel—my first comics ever. But I’m not allowed to talk about them yet.”

Marvel has had a lot of success in using non-comic writers to bring new relevance to its aging franchises. Along with this, they have rebooted their superhero universe with a far larger and more diverse cast, including teenage Muslim superheroine Ms. Marvel, a new African American Captain America and an all female squad of Avengers.

We look forward to seeing what macabre delights Stine has up his sleeve.
