While in the middle of robbing a house, 29-year-old Timothy Bontrager pulled a Goldilocks and found a couch that was “just right” for him to fall asleep on.

The homeowner told the police that she woke up around 7 a.m. and found Bontrager sleeping on her couch. When she asked him what he was doing there, he apologized.

It wasn’t until the victim called the police that Bontrager left and the she notice that her wallet, drivers license, credit carts and personal checks were all missing.

The suspect was found walking along a nearby road. He was transported to the Sarasota County Jail without incident and has been charged with felony burglary of an occupied dwelling. Smartest. Criminal. Ever.
