Forbes magazine just released its annual list of the highest-paid actors in the world, and though it’s a rather diverse lineup this year – featuring a number of international stars – it’s still topped by an Avenger. For the third straight year, Robert Downey Jr. sits at the pinnacle, pulling in an astonishing $80 million thanks in large part to the continued success of the Avengers franchise he helped launch with Iron Man back in 2008.

Downey is such a movie juggernaut that he’s ranked $30 million higher than the number two actor on the list, the legendary Jackie Chan, who raked in $50 million thanks in large part to his continued international success, merchandise sales, and his own chain of movie theaters in China. Vin Diesel came in third with $47 million thanks to the continued box office dominance of the Fast and Furious franchise, which got a boost of more than $1 billion this year thanks to Furious 7, and is set to add an 8th film soon. Other stars who cracked the top 10 include Bradley Cooper with $41.5 million, Adam Sandler (despite his critical failings) with $41 million, Tom Cruise (despite those claims that he’s not even a movie star anymore) with $40 million), and Indian star Amitabh Bachchan with $33.5 million.

So, the message is clear: If you want to be rich, find a way to be an Avenger. For a full breakdown of the numbers, head over to Forbes’ website.
