Soccer with cars is getting more and more ludicrous by the day. Now the developers at Psyonix are expecting you to make jump shots and layups with cars. Where will it end? Where?
The new “Hoops” mode is officially a thing in Rocket League, and like soccer and hockey before, it’ll encourage you to ram your car into a giant bouncy ball, use rocket power to fly through the air, and do your best to explode the opposing team by driving through them at super-high speeds.
The update with the Hoops mode comes April 26 for free. The part that’ll help Pysonix actually make money is a big set of flags bearing NBA logos you can buy for your car. But the meat of the update will automatically go out to Rocket League players next week and cost nothing, further expanding the best sports video game ever conceived.
