The Russian government wants you to know that “extremists” are gathering “truckloads of chemical ammo” for, like, something bad. But the government didn’t have a picture of that actually happening so it went with the next best thing—a screen cap of trucks from a video game.
That game is Command & Conquer, a strategy title in which players control a bunch of units fighting a war, including trucks, soldiers, tanks, and so on. You’re the commander of the battle and you’re issuing orders to all the folks on the ground, basically.
The image chosen for the tweet, which came from Russia’s U.K. embassy and which has a little disclaimer that says “for illustration purposes only,” actually shows suicide bomber trucks from 2003’s Command & Conquer: Generals.
Naturally, the internet pounced on the opportunity to inform Russia about a number of other possible security threats:

Good work, everyone. The world is now a safer place.
