San Francisco Rock Club: The Fillmore Auditorium
The Fillmore Auditorium Smiling hippies still greet you with apples as you enter this 1250-person venue. This is the original Fillmore, where folks like the Grateful Dead and Santana used to lead acid-soaked audiences to the brinks of sanity and back again. The psychedelic purple chandeliers are still glowing, and the walls are plastered with eye-smashing posters from 40 years of great shows. These days, though, the stage is more likely to sport anyone from the Black Keys to Galactic to Willie Nelson. 1805 Geary Blvd. San Francisco, California 415-346-6000 website Runner-up: Bottom of the Hill 1233 17th St. San Francisco, California 415-621-4455 website ![]() ![]() Mar 19, 2010
