Sarah Paulson, who just won her first Golden Globe for her portrayal of Marcia Clarke in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and Amanda Peet have been best friends for years, which is probably why they’re unabashedly affectionate with each other – and endearingly awkward about it.
Last night’s red carpet smooch doesn’t mark the first time they’ve lip-locked in public. In December, Peet planted one on a surprised Paulson (who’s dating 73-year-old actress Holland Taylor) at the opening of The Babylon Line in New York City, and it was no more graceful than their most recent kiss. Clumsy or not, it begs the question: When will two friends kissing in a non-sexual manner not be worth talking about?
Later, Peet also made out with her buddy’s gleaming Golden Globe trophy, so it’s clear she’s not that picky. Also, she really loves her friend.
