It won’t be long before we call wireless headphones just headphones. As rumors swirl about the lack of a headphone jack on the iPhone 7 and as connectivity issues improve, the need to be physically tethered to a device diminishes significantly. The one issue is battery life, and Sennheiser’s new PXC550 headphones just made that a moot point.

The PXC550s will last up to 30 hours on a single charge. That is a ridiculously long time, and 10 hours longer than Bose’s recently announced QC35 headphones. That means you could put your Sennheiser’s on when you woke up in the morning, keep them on all day, continue listening through an all-nighter and still have enough juice to get you to lunchtime. (If you do go this route, be aware that people might start calling you anti-social.) Alternatively, it means you could fly halfway around the world and even if you had a ridiculously long layover somewhere, you could still make it through the first three seasons of Game Of Thrones en route.

While Sennheiser may not be as popular as Beats, they are the choice for many devout audiophiles and musicians. The PXC550s are definitely designed for hardcore travelers. They feature enhanced speech clarity for phone calls and powerful noise cancelling technology that works harder the louder the ambient noise around you gets.

Sennheiser’s PXC550 headphones will go on sale later this month for $399.
