Just a few months ago it seemed like no one on the internet could escape the addictive podcast phenomenon that was Serial. The hit podcast from host Sarah Koenig and producer Julie Snyder is dormant now, but in just a few months, it’ll be back with a brand new story that you’ll know everything about even if you don’t listen to it, because your friends at the office won’t stop talking about it.

We’ve known season two of Serial was coming for a while, but now we have both an estimated premiere date and news of a third season. In a message sent to fans via the podcast’s newsletter, Koenig first addressed the latest legal developments in the case of Adnan Syed — the subject of Serial’s first season — and then revealed new details on the future of the show.

“As it stands, we intend to launch Season Two this fall and Season Three next spring,” Koenig wrote. “Sorry - we can’t tell you details about the new stories yet. What we can say is that they’re very different from Season One, but no less interesting to us.”

As Koenig said, no details about the subjects of these seasons are available yet, though she has noted in the past that Serial going forward may not focus on crime stories like season one did. She also noted in the newsletter that, because the stories for seasons two and three are being researched simultaneously, the production team hopes to shorten the wait between seasons in the future.

So, get ready for two new stories told week-by-week, and even if you don’t care about Serial, get ready for the inevitable new wave of pop culture reactions to it. You know, stuff like this.
