Did you know Snoop Dogg (a.k.a. Calvin Broadus Jr.) is a big fan of weed? No, seriously. He smokes pot. In fact, he enjoys marijuana so much that he’s launching a new website devoted entirely to the still-illegal drug.

The multifaceted entertainer best known for his groundbreaking role in Bones (2001) announced the new site (MerryJane.com) earlier this week at the TechCrunch Disrupt conference in San Francisco. That’s the same conference that made the data compression company Pied Piper a household name.

According to Market Watch, the site is intended as a “media, education and entertainment site for marijuana enthusiasts” that will help bring the “practice of cannabis consumption into the mainstream.”

“There are so many people in the closet, and we are giving them an opportunity to come out of the closet and just admit they like to smoke,” Snoop said. “I’m a smoker, my name is Snoop Dogg, and I’m a stoner.”

Yeah. We know, Snoop. You’ve been talking about it for decades.

The site is not yet open to the public, so it’s far too early to make a judgment. However, it’s 2015, and aside from its legal status, pot is already pretty mainstream. But that point aside, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what the MerryJane.com has to offer. And even if it fails, at least Snoop has his acting career to fall back on.
