‘Street Fighter’ Mod Recreates Ronda Rousey KO, With Less Blood

If you haven’t heard about Ultimate Fighting Championship fan favorite Ronda Rousey getting KO’d by competitor Holly Holm last week, you might want to check out the video of the pummeling Holm gave the heavily favored Rousey in her first mixed martial arts match loss.

Then again, the fight is a bloody one, so maybe you’d just rather see a recreation in Street Fighter. Thanks to YouTuber Richie Branson, you can get the gist of the battle, including the kick to the face that put Rousey out, in a Street Fighter 4 mod, subbing a slightly altered Chun-Li for Holm and a slightly altered Cammy in the place of Rousey. The fight is pretty quick, just like it was in real life.

After the fight last week and Rousey’s first loss, some started to blame the EA Sports Cover Curse. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s the one that says if an athlete appears on an EA Sports game’s cover—as Rousey is, on UFC 2—they immediately start losing or getting injured. Luckily, there’s no “modded into Street Fighter and then wailed on” curse, but this seems to be the more dubious distinction.
