Anyone that has been following the streetwear juggernaut that is Supreme for a little while knows there are some brands that it collaborates with season after season. Playboy, for one, and Vans. The North Face is another frequent partner, and Supreme just released its latest project with the outdoor company.
For fall/winter 2016, Supreme and The North Face went with colors and patterns that are more traditionally associated with deer hunters than hypebeasts. The seven pieces in the collection all feature either a bright blaze orange or a leafy camouflage pattern. While it’s unlikely that you’ll see any of the clothes tracking a 10-point buck, they are all designed to battle the challenges of the outdoors, in either an urban or rural setting. The Nuptse jacket and pants are both water resistant and stuffed with 700-fill down, while the Mountain Light jacket is a completely waterproof shell with a fleece lining. The remaining pieces are the insulated Nuptse bootie, which is like a cozy sleeping bag for your feet, and three bags—a backpack, a duffel, and a lumbar pack.
While the colors are bold, the pieces are decidedly more understated than the collaboration Supreme worked on with The North Face last fall. That collection prominently featured the phrase “By Any Means Necessary” in an all-over print.
The new collaboration will launch online and in Supreme’s stores in the U.S. and Europe on November 17, with a Japan release to follow two days later.
