The mighty Coachella music festival, running this April 14–16 and 21–23 in the desert of Indio, CA, just announced its lineup. This roster of artists will likely have tens of thousands flocking to camp out, do drugs and get stinky while listening to a wild array of music. In the case of Coachella, this is business as usual.
The lineup on the other hand is notably not business as usual in some ways, with predictable pop-culture titans like Kendrick Lamar and Beyoncé headlining followed by some surprises on each weekend. Among the most advertised artists are some patently unexpected musicians, most notably Hans Zimmer, the brilliant composer behind everything from The Dark Knight Trilogy to 12 Years a Slave, and New Order. It seems both the young and older will have something entertaining to take part in. On Sunday April 16 you can see Zimmer followed by DJ Khaled. As Future and Drake would say, What a time to be alive.
Tickets go on sale this Wednesday at 11am on Coachella.com. Check out the full lineup for both weekends below.
