We’ve got a particularly exciting bunch of trailers this week, including a new Coen Brothers flick, the first glimpse at the return of Twin Peaks, and Martin Scorsese’s HBO series about the New York music scene in the ‘70s. So, let’s get to it.
Any time Joel and Ethan Coen decide to release a film, we all sit up and pay attention, and Hail, Casesar! is no different. This is a film we’ve known about for years, and now it’s finally real. Josh Brolin is an Old Hollywood fixer dedicated to stopping scandals. George Clooney is a movie star who’s just been kidnapped. The supporting cast includes Frances McDormand, Scarlett Johannson, Jonah Hill, Tilda Swinton, and more. How can you say no?
Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter re-teams with legendary director Martin Scorsese, and ropes in Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger, for this music business drama that dives into sex, drugs, and rock 'n’ roll. The new trailer, set to The Stooges’ “I Wanna Be Your Dog,” is a drug in itself.
THE HUNGER GAMES: MOCKINGJAY PART 2
Next month, one of the biggest movies of the year arrives, and the latest trailer is not holding back one bit.
This year, Sherlock returns with a special that takes Holmes (Benedict Cumberbatch) and Watson (Martin Freeman) back to Victorian England for a spooky, fog-filled adventure. Why? Who knows, but it’ll definitely be fun.
It’s only 15 seconds, and it features recycled footage, but if you’re a fan it’s enough to make you shout “Holy shit Twin Peaks is really coming back!”
