The Daily- August 1

Welcome to The Daily – the five awesome things you need to read (or see) on Playboy.com errday. You’re welcome.

  1. CHEF SEAN BRASEL HAS HAD A LITTLE TOO MUCH CAFFEINE TODAY

    01 the daily 08_01

Calling a place a “Meat Market” can make certain people wince, unless, of course, you’re talking about chef Sean Brasel’s insanely hot Miami Beach restaurant. And yes, while the restaurant has a literal and figurative tie to that name with a thriving bar scene and drool-worthy patrons, it’s the grazing kind that brings foodies back and back again to eat popular dishes such as their Kobe skirt steak with lemongrass, ginger and roasted local chili or tropical braised “fatty” brisket with coconut, mango, Cuban sweet potatoes and wild mushrooms.

  2. SIDE QUESTS ARE A PLAGUE ON MODERN VIDEO GAMES

    02 the daily 08_01

I recently dipped into Final Fantasy XIV, the latest game in the storied Japanese franchise. Friends and people I follow online were talking it up and it definitely had an allure, despite being a “Massively Multiplayer Online” (MMO) game—meaning it puts thousands of players together in a giant shared world where you can chat, fight and trade with others anywhere you go.

  3. ALISON WONDERLAND TALKS FIRST U.S. PERFORMANCE AND HOW BANANAS KIND OF FREAK HER OUT

    03 the daily 08_01

Scholler, aka Aussie DJ and producer Alison Wonderland, was due for her first EDC Las Vegas performance. After just wrapping up a tour in Australia and New Zealand, along with making her U.S. debut at Coachella promoting her first full-length album Run, she may have admitted she was tired but her passion on stage said otherwise.

  4. A LIVE ‘EXORCISM’ WILL AIR ON CABLE THIS HALLOWEEN

    04 the daily 08_01

Most horror fans know that The Exorcist is very loosely based on a difficult-to-piece-together account of a real exorcism that was performed on a boy from Maryland in 1949. So, this Halloween, cable network Destination America will exploit that fact by performing a live “exorcism” tied to the case.

  5. BEHIND-THE-SCENES OF STEEL PANTHER’S “PARTY LIKE IT’S THE END OF THE WORLD” VIDEO

    05 the daily 08_01

Steel Panther brought the glorious world of ‘80s glam metal to Playboy for their official “party like it’s the end of the world” music video. The group, known for their hilarious lyrics and incredible on-stage performances, will play their last show at The House of Blues in L.A. on August 3rd.
