Pick-up lines take too much energy, and it appears they're becoming relics. One of the questions Playboy asked college students in our campus sex survey was, "Do you know a surefire opening line?" Only one response stood out: "Do you mind if I sit here?" It was suggested by a woman. The bad news: She was one of the few virgins in our sample. The good news: She'd had 10 oral sex partners. Rather than dropping a line, the best way to approach a woman is to sincerely compliment her—there was a reason you picked her out of the crowd, right? You'll know soon enough whether she's looking for conversation.
