But for the family of redditor eudicotyledon, gingerbread houses are exercises in cinematic art. This year, they made a mind-blowing replica of the Overlook Hotel from The Shining. Stephen King based his novel’s sinister building on Colorado’s Stanley Hotel, which director Stanley Kubrick took to the weird, wild craziness we know today.
