It’s officially official: publisher Activision announced there’s really, truly a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game on the way.
Information has been trickling out about a new TMNT title for a few weeks now, and according to the trailer released today, the game will actually be available pretty soon—summer of 2016, in fact. Dubbed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, the game has players taking on the roles of the titular heroes in a half shell to work as a team, so it’ll sport both cooperative play with friends and the ability to do reptilian ninja moves by your lonesome.
It’s notable that the game’s developer is Platinum Games, a studio with a reputation of turning out great brawler-style titles. The studio’s past works include the cyborg-ninja-with-a-sword game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance and the Bayonetta games, among others, and many of them carry a similar fast-paced presentation to TMNT.
You’ll get to leverage that four-turtle ass-kicking against enemies including the Foot Clan, Bebop, Rocksteady, Shredder and, apparently, a giant man-shark we can only assume is Armaggon, the mutant shark from the future who wants to conquer the world. It’ll be the first and only time a turtle has ever defeated a shark in combat.
