Although it came with a dizzying sense of speed and height, the rooftop-running dystopian future found in 2008’s Mirror’s Edge wasn’t much for story. Mostly it was just about hopping over pipes, sliding under gaps, and leaping from ledge to ledge—occasionally while the Bad People of the Government were shooting at you.
In going back to an earlier point in the story, the upcoming Mirror’s Edge Catalyst looks like it’s going to be more focused on the story of main character Faith as she parkours fascists in their dumb faces. And damn if developer DICE and publisher Electronic Arts haven’t put together a slick trailer to that end.
If Mirror’s Edge Catalyst can tell a cool story and scare the hell out of you when you slip and fall off a building, it’ll be pretty impressive when it releases in May.
