BDSM Helps your Mental Health

Has your life gone uphill ever since you’ve started practicing the dark bedroom arts of Christian Grey? It’s probably because your mental health has taken a turn for the better since your sex life has been whipped into shape. One recent study has shown that "The results mostly suggest favorable psychological characteristics of BDSM practitioners compared with the control group; BDSM practitioners were less neurotic, more extroverted, more open to new experiences, more conscientious, less rejection sensitive, had higher subjective well-being, yet were less agreeable." Yet another reason to keep it interesting in the bedroom! Read the rest of the findings on theregister.co.uk.

New York Women have Lower Sex Drives

Ever feel like you have a hell of a time picking up at New York bars? It’s probably because women in the Big Apple are more likely to suffer from low sex drive. LoveAgain.com interviewed 18,000 couples from around America, including 3,000 from NYC where “only 42% of women gave themselves a high sex drive rating as compared to 51% of the men.” Check out the rest of the results on examiner.com.

Google Glass **Denies it's Awesome Porn Capabilities**

If you’ve been following the ongoing saga of the kind-of-awesome yet creepy new gadget Google Glass, you’ve probably already heard the news: they’re trying really hard to thwart any sort of porn-related app even though it’s only in beta testing. According to Mashable, the content policies have been changed to include the wording, “We don't allow Glassware content that contains nudity, graphic sex acts, or sexually explicit material,” as of June 2nd. Will this be the demise of the coolest POV porn ever? Probably not, but it definitely puts up a roadblock for developers. Read the rest of the article on Mashable.

Slut Shaming is (unfortunately) Alive and Well

While the concept of “slut-shaming” seems outdated to us, it seems as if it’s something that is still happening. According to a study of 751 college students, women said girls who were in their early 20s with 20 or more sexual partners were not friend material. Even worse? Men viewed those same women as not long-term relationship material. "For sexually permissive women, they are ostracized for being 'easy,' whereas men with a high number of sexual partners are viewed with a sense of accomplishment," lead author Zhana Vrangalova said. "What surprised us in this study is how unaccepting promiscuous women were of other promiscuous women when it came to friendships—these are the very people one would think they could turn to for support."
