This Week in Sex: Sex Stories, Masturbation & Kink:

Women like sex?

Hey, everyone, guess what? Women are highly sexual creatures too! In the latest stunning discovery made by someone who may or may not be a time traveler from the 18th century, journalist Daniel Bergner has used “groundbreaking” sex research to show that women’s sexuality is “not the rational civilized and balancing force it’s so often made out to be—that it is base, animalistic and ravenous.” Read more discoveries from his new book What Do Women Want?: Adventures in the Science of Female Desire on Salon.com.

More masturbation than before

While masturbation is something we all do, it’s something that’s not widely talked about. Dating site Ashley Madison wanted to see how a recent survey about women’s masturbation habits would compare to the women that worked in their offices “who have more relaxed views on love and sex.” What did they find? “In the survey, it stated that nine out of ten women were taking the time for some self-love in the most literal way. In our office, the amount was the same but where the percentages were 92% for the women in the survey within our office the percentage was closer to 96% of females who masturbated.” Read the rest on Ashleymadison.com.

Fix your sex life!

Think your sex life could use a revamp, but don’t know where to start? Guyism has laid down eight pretty solid reasons why you’re not getting laid as often as you think you should be. Whether it’s your conversational skills, how aggressive you are, your standards or your pickup techniques, there are a lot of explanations as to why you keep striking out. Read the list on Guyism.com.

How to tell a sex story

A great sex story should be shared, but there’s definitely a kind of unspoken etiquette on how we go about sharing. The Good Men Project has laid out the rules, and there’s just two of them, that every man needs to keep in mind when he’s bragging about his latest bedroom conquest. Read the rules on how to tell a good sex story without being an asshole about it at GoodMenProject.com.

Kink 101

Kink is awesome, but kink can be confusing and scary if you don’t know what you’re doing. Luckily for us, one member of the kink community has laid out what you need to keep in mind when you’re thinking you want to experiment with this kind of bedroom play. “There is no official person stamping us, or giving us a certificate deeming us ‘worthy’ of being a part of this community. Some of us like giving pain; some of us like receiving pain; some of us like to serve; some of us like receiving service; some of us love sex; some of us don’t place great importance on sex. Bottom line: If I’m into doing kinky things, being around kinky people, and claiming that I’m kinky—then I’m kinky.” Read the tips on goodvibesblog.com.
