The internet got an early Christmas gift yesterday, when an unfinished version of the first trailer for Tom Cruise’s summer 2017 movie The Mummy was temporarily uploaded to YouTube, giving audiences a chance to hear what the movie sounded like without special effects.
Although the video, uploaded by the official IMAX account, was quickly deleted, it wasn’t fast enough; alternate uploads of the video were soon available, sharing the particular joys of the teaser when it sounds slightly less impressive… but infinitely more amusing:
Social media quickly realized just how perfect the accidental new trailer really is:
Not gonna lie I would watch that new mummy movie if the audio was actually like that trailer all the way through.— (*^ω^*) MEOWKING (@endshark) December 20, 2016
The IMAX YouTube channel accidentally uploaded The Mummy trailer with missing audio. Funniest shit I’ve seen all day https://t.co/764KMo8S4C— YMS (Adum) (@2gay2lift) December 20, 2016

Not to mention useful!

Really, it’s the gift that keeps giving. Or maybe just the scream that keeps screaming:
