Too High to Talk to Girls? Take the ‘Sex Ed for Stoners’ Class

Too High to Talk to Girls? Take the ‘Sex Ed for Stoners’ Class: mavrin studios

It’s tough enough to approach women when you aren’t stoned out of your gourd. Introduce marijuana to the equation and you’re completely fucked. The thought of having a meaningful conversation with a pretty lady is more than enough to send you into a sativa-induced panic attack.

You could stop smoking weed, I guess. (LOL nope.) Or you could take Sex Ed for Stoners, an educational series taking place in Manhattan. Its first installment began Wednesday night and goes through Dec. 16.

The class is run by dating coaches Harrison Schultz and Lorna Shannon, who are targeting the membership of cannabis legalization advocacy group Occupy Weed Street, according to DNAInfo.

Schultz and Shannon decided to start the program after hearing that some of the Occupy Weed Street members were practicing poor social etiquette and making borderline inappropriate comments. (They don’t mention any specifics, but one time my friend was super high and he randomly began stroking a stranger’s hair. I hypothesize these are the types of things they would like to prevent.)

Schultz and Shannon are going to teach these potheads “how to navigate sex and the dating scene, as well as the line between sexual harassment and flirting.”

“These are people who are used to getting high alone,” Schultz says. “They’re not used to getting out of the closet. We expect these people to have some awkward tendencies. We want people to learn from this moment.”

Schultz and Shannon are going to take class members to bars to test out the techniques they teach them, which include making eye contact, and also not immediately telling the object of your affections that you’re high as a fucking kite.
