What is the Free the Nipple movement? It’s a group of people (mostly women) who are photographing themselves shirtless to protest antiquated censorship rules regarding the female body in society and on social media websites such as Instagram. We’ve covered the movement before on this site, and a number of prominent celebrities, such as Miley Cyrus, Scout Willis and Miranda Kerr, have come out to support it as well.

Recently a group of students at the University of California, San Diego held a giant rally in which students are freed their nipples to support the movement. They also had some people film a movement because, as the old saying goes, “If a nipple gets freed but no one’s around to film, will the Internet care?”
