Sneakers have long been a status symbol on basketball courts around the world. Showing up to the run in the latest Jordans or LeBrons can be enough to garner you a second look when you shout “Next!” Imagine what would happen if you showed up with a luxury basketball.

Unofish is a company started by Nick Swinmurn, a founder of the behemoth shoe retailer Zappos. Swinmurn’s new venture involves selling basketballs made with premium materials such as stingray beaded leather, pony hair, python embossed leather, and ostrich embossed leather.

The balls cost $249. That isn’t cheap, but at least you can whisper “Ball don’t lie” to your albino gator basketball knowing you’ve done a little good. For every ball that Unofish sells, it donates another ball (not the luxury kind) to kids in youth programs.

Just remember that having a fancy ball does not mean you have a fancy game. Heaven help the dude who chucks up an air ball with one of these.
