Up in Smoke: Rules of Attraction:

There’s something strange about how a man attempts to show himself off for women. There are those that think the ultimate pickup line is key, some believe being kind will get you to the bedroom and others flash their wads of cash in an attempt to make the women around them melt.

If you fall into that last category, we have some good and bad news for you: women can see straight through your bullshit baller persona, but that’s not to say they’re not interested. One study has shown that women are more prone to go for the richer guy in the hopes that she can change his ways and turn their one-night stand into a long-term relationship.

But the study also revealed that what women look for in a man wasn’t so black and white.

“When women considered Porsche man for a long-term relationship, owning the sports car held no advantage relative to owning an economy car,” explained the study’s coauthor Daniel Beal. “People may feel that owning flashy things makes them more attractive as a relationship partner, but in truth, many men might be sending women the wrong message.”

So spend money, but not on sports cars…got it. It’s obvious that some girls, especially our car-loving Playmate Pilar, would definitely disagree with this remark, but we can understand why others would see a sports car as a red flag for instability or, if the age is right, a midlife crisis.
