To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
STARTER SLAM DUNK JACKET
To celebrate the NBA All Star Game, Starter and Villa teamed up to release a collection of satin jackets that pay tribute to great slam dunk champions of the past, including Spud Webb and Vince Carter. Our favorite is the ABA All Stars jacket that commemorates Dr. J’s 1976 win in the very first dunk contest.
GUINNESS POTATO CHIPS
Guinness is awesome. Potato chips are awesome. By that math, Guinness pototo chips equal awesome squared. The chips (or “crisps” if you’re from the other side of the pond) are available in original stout or a rich beef chili flavor.
CONWAY ELECTRIC EXTO EXTENSION CORD
Extension cords are supposed to be ugly, unruly things. This one from Seattle’s Conway Electric is anything but. It has a powder-coated aluminum and stainless steel housing and a cotton-covered cord that won’t turn into a tangled mess.
AVO BLACK LINES LEATHER PILLOW
Brooklyn-based designer Brit Kleinman hand paints the geometric patterns on all of her vegetable-tanned cowhide leather pillows and rugs. No matter how dingy your couch is, this pillow will instantly class it up.
CONVERSE ALL STAR ANDY WARHOL COLLECTION
The canvas upper of the Converse All Star has always served as a great, er, canvas for artist collaborations. Now Converse is featuring the works of iconic pop artist Andy Warhol on its Chucks. The high and low top collection features Warhol’s famous soup can paintings.
