The Want List: 5 Things We’re Coveting This Week:

To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.

Artiphon

Artiphon

ARTIPHON INSTRUMENT 1
$349, artiphon.com
This is basically every instrument that exists packed into a single device. The Instrument 1 connects to your smartphone or computer and allows you to strum a guitar, bow a violin, pound the drums or play the piano. It can be held in various ways and syncs easily with apps like Garage Band.

FOLDING SLED
$380, maarno.com
Since it now appears winter is never going to end, having a good sled is a must. But, in the unlikely event, that it does warm up, you aren’t going to want this bulky thing taking up a ton of space in your home. True to its name, this folding sled tacos into a sleek design that stows away easily into a closet.

Samsung

Samsung

SAMSUNG GEAR VR INNOVATOR EDITION
$199.99, samsung.com
It takes a leap of faith to try on a virtual reality headset, but once you do, you instantly understand what all the fuss is about. The Samsung version connects with the Galaxy Note 4 to deliver truly immersive, 360-degree experiences. Your sense of perspective while watching videos or playing games is completely changed and once you try it, everything else seems kind of blah.

Reebok

Reebok

REEBOK Z PUMP FUSION
$109.99, reebok.com
The Pump is back. While it may be most famous for its basketball applications, Reebok is reviving its inflatable technology with a new running shoe. The Z Pump Fusion is made up of just three parts—an outsole, the Pump air bladder, and a one-piece sleeve that covers it. The result is a very lightweight shoe with a completely customizable fit.

Amazon

Amazon

POP-UP OP-ART
$29.95, amazon.com
There is no reason that kids should be the only ones who get to enjoy pop-up books. French paper engineer Philippe UG was inspired by the work of Victor Vasarely, who made two-dimensional images appear as if they were three-dimensional. In the book, UG turned those 2D images back into 3D. It’s visually stunning and deserves a place on any well-considered coffee table.
