To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
WOOLSEY PING PONG TABLE
Most guys stop using a ping pong table as a dining table by the time they leave the frat house. But this table from designer Sean Woolsey makes you rethink all that. The black walnut table top is regulation size and infinitely more elegant than the standard green, rec room version you grew up with. The powder-coated steel net can be quickly removed when the table is used for dining or meetings and each table comes with four walnut and maple paddles.
IGLOO TRAILMATE COOLER
Taking a cooler to the beach is a necessity. Getting a cooler to the beach is a pain in the ass. Enter Igloo’s Trailmate. The oversized wheels and telescoping handle make it easy to cart over sand or any kind of terrain. There are cup holders everywhere, multiple bottle openers, a water resistant storage area to hold your phone and keys, and tie-down loops to bungee down all your other gear. And, oh yeah, it can hold 144 cans of beer.
“WOODY” FORD BRONCO
With its wood-paneled sides, the Jeep Grand Waggoneer is one of the coolest 4x4s ever built. But the pre-O.J. era Ford Broncos are in that conversation as well. The team at Classic Ford Broncos decided to combine the two and make a “Woody” Bronco. The 1974 Bronco has marine-grade wood on the sides and top and sits on hulking 31-inch tires. Despite the retro look, there are modern comforts like power steering, disc brakes, and air conditioning.
THE JEAN HANGER
$25 (for three), kickstarter.com
The more you wear your jeans, the more they mold to your body, taking on creases that make them distinctly yours. Those are good wrinkles. The ones that come when you leave your denim in a rumpled ball on your bedroom floor? Not so much. The Jean Hanger is one of those simple yet brilliant ideas that makes you wonder why you didn’t think of it first. It is constructed from a solid piece of beech wood and holds jeans by the belt loops. On the rare occasions that you wash your jeans, the hanger also serves as a great way to dry your denim.
WANDERER AWAKENING BODY BAR
$7.50 (for two), dollarshaveclub.com
Not content with just razors and viral videos, Dollar Shave Club launched the new Wanderer line of skin cleansers, including this Awakening Body Bar that is free of sulfates and parabens. It has a bracing mint and cedarwood scent that will send you out ready to tackle the day and maybe even your a-hole boss.
