To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
PRO-JECT ELEMENTAL TURNTABLE
If you’re looking to get into record collecting but aren’t sure you want to dive full-on into music nerddom by picking up a turntable that costs more than a used car, this is a great option for aspiring crate diggers. It also looks great even when you aren’t playing any music.
URSA MAJOR BLACK WALNUT RAZOR
Make your morning shave a little bit more of an elegant affair with this new razor from Vermont’s Ursa Major. The handle is made with reclaimed black walnut wood sourced from along the East Coast. The razor is compatible with all Gillette Mach 3 blades. Sorry Schick users.
GOPRO HERO+ LCD
The new entry level GoPro features an LCD touchscreen that makes it easier to see what you’re shooting and edit your videos right on the camera. The Hero+ shoots 1080p HD video; the frame rate is only 60 frames per second, so you won’t be able to capture those super slo-mo shots. But for $200 bucks less than the top-of-the-line Hero4 Black, you still get a helluva lot of camera.
SOMA X INTELLIGENTSIA GIFT SET
Soma water filters transform hydrating into this high-design experience. And since coffee is mostly water, Soma teamed up with renowned roaster Intelligentsia for this limited edition kit. The set includes a carafe, a filter, a 12-ounce bag of Intelligentsia’s Soma blend coffee beans, and a customizable mug.
PUFF PUFF PASS ASHTRAY
In case you need a gentle reminder that sharing is caring, this ashtray will come in handy. Each one is handmade by artists Dierdre Shea and Na Kim and features gold trim around the edge. Even if you don’t smoke, this ashtray makes a great place to stash your keys or change.
