To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
UNIQLO X KAWS TOTE BAG
After starting his career in graffiti, Kaws has risen to become an internationally-celebrated artist, whose works command big bucks and are collected by the likes of Pharrell. But you don’t have to be a judge on The Voice or have a ton of loot to pick up this tote bag—created as part of an ongoing collaboration with Uniqlo—that features Kaws’s letter characters in fun colors.
HASSELBLAD X1D CAMERA
Massive sensor, miniscule size. That’s the best way to describe Hasselblad’s new X1D medium format camera. It has a huge 50-megapixel CMOS sensor that is almost twice the size of what you’d find in a typical DSLR camera but comes packaged in a camera body that is comparable to DSLR offerings from Canon and Nikon. That means you can take much more detailed images, especially in low light.
DODGE VIPER GTS-R COMMEMORATIVE EDITION
Price unavailable, dodge.com
The end is coming for this snake, but not before one last strike. Dodge announced that 2017 would be the final year of production for the Viper, but softened the blow by revealing new special editions. This white-and-blue version is a nod to the 1998 Viper GTS-R GT2 Championship Edition that commemorated the car winning the GT2 championship in 1997. Only 100 of these cars can be made, and each comes with an agressive aero package, carbon ceramic brakes, and the owner’s name painted on the driver side door.
PRO-KEDS X FOOTPATROL PATCHWORK ROYAL HI
London sneaker boutique Footpatrol wanted to pay homage to the fabric shops in its Soho neighborhood with this collaboration, so the classic Pro-Keds Royal Hi features overlapping patches of material, including suede, denim, madras, and duck canvas. In the wrong hands, it’s a combo that could come off as tacky. But Footpatrol and Pro-Keds pulled it off incredibly tastefully.
G-FORM PRO S SHIN GUARDS
If watching Copa America Centenario and Euro 2016 has you itching to get out on the pitch and play soccer, make sure you’re protected. G-Form’s sleeve-style shin guards are soft and flexible so they feel great when you’re wearing them and they offer incredible protection. You can sandwich M&Ms between the two pads and drop a bowling ball on them and the candy won’t even crack.
