To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.

DEVIALET GOLD PHANTOM SPEAKER
$2,990, devialet.com
This does not look like your typical wireless speaker, nor does it sound like one. French audiophile brand Devialet created this iteration of its Phantom speaker with a 22-karat rose gold panel and jacked it up with 4,500 watts of power so that it can really thump. While most wireless speakers are designed to be heard and not seen, the Devialet Gold Phantom is designed for both.

SHELBY COBRA CSX 2000
Price unavailable, rmsothetbys.com
Carroll Shelby is an absolute legend in the world of cars, and this is the very first Cobra he made. RM Sotheby’s will auction off the 1962 Shelby 260 Cobra in Monterey later this summer, and you can expect it to break all kinds of records. Shelby owned the car personally throughout his life and it is being sold through his family trust. The CSX 2000 has a Ford V8 placed inside the chassis of an AC Ace. In 1962, Road & Track clocked it doing 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, which is fast by today’s standards. The CSX 2000 is completely unrestored and shows some wear, which is what you want from an iconic car that has been driven instead of sitting in a garage.

IMAX PRIVATE THEATER PALAIS
Price unavailable, imaxprivatetheater.com
We keep hearing about how people don’t go to the movie theater anymore. Well, IMAX has a solution for some very, very rich people: take the movie theater to them. The company created IMAX Private Theater for the ultimate home theater experience. The Palais layout includes dual 4K 2D/3D projectors, a floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall screen, and the IMAX sound that veteran moviegoers will appreciate.

NEW BALANCE 009
$109, newbalance.com
New Balance has so many classic running silhouettes that new ones can get overlooked. That won’t be the case with the 009. It takes design inspiration from the 998 and 999 and then adds modern touches from performance running sneakers, like neoprene foam around the collar, to create a shoe that manages to be both current and timeless.
