The Want List: 5 Things We’re Coveting This Week: via Adidas

To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.

PRINCETON AUDIO SITE:1 SPEAKER
$459.99, princeton-audio.com
Whereas most portable Bluetooth speakers are housed in cheap plastic, Princeton Audio opted for beautiful tonewoods to craft the cabinet for its Site:1. Those are the same woods used to make guitars and violins and they help the speaker deliver clear and beautiful sounds. It also doesn’t hurt that the Site:1 looks so refined that you’ll want to keep it prominently displayed instead of hidden.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS X PHARRELL WILLIAMS HU NMD
$240, adidas.com
Longtime Adidas collaborator Pharrell Williams’s much-anticipated take on the NMD is finally dropping (first on July 22, followed by another release on August 25). The shoe features a lacing system that is different from previous NMD models—but the most striking aspect is the “Human Race” message stitched onto the tops of each shoe.

ROGUE ROLLING THUNDER IMPERIAL STOUT
Price varies, rogue.com
There is no shortage of barrel-aged beers available right now. What makes Rogue’s Rolling Thunder Imperial Stout unique is the brewery’s role in every step of the process. Rogue built its own oak barrels using World War II-era equipment from France, then soaked the wood in its own Dead Guy Whiskey. An imperial stout brewed with hops and barley from Rogue’s farm was then aged inside the barrels for six months before being bottled. The result is a bold and complex stout that clocks in at 11.8 percent ABV.

TRACKSMITH RUN CANNONBALL RUN SHORTS
$98, tracksmith.com
To mix a bunch of animal metaphors, running in the dog days of summer can be a bear. You end up covered in sweat before reaching the end of the block. But if you’re training for fall races, you need to get those training miles in now. One thing that can ease the pain a bit is jumping into a pool or lake after you’re done. Tracksmith’s new Run Cannonball Run shorts are designed for just that purpose, without compromising on the running or the swimming. They are lightweight, have all the pockets you need, and are quick-drying for that post-swim journey back home.

BYRD HYDRATING BODY WASH
$22, byrdhair.com
With its tropical coconut scent, Byrd’s new body wash just smells like summer. It’s an aroma you won’t mind having long after Labor Day has passed. The unique mix of sea kelp, green tea, and aloe vera clean and protect the skin, keeping it hydrated without stripping your body’s natural oils. It also comes in a sleek metal can that makes even the grimiest shower look dignified.
