To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
WEBER GO-ANYWHERE CHARCOAL GRILL
Just because it’s mid-August, doesn’t mean you have to kiss BBQ season goodbye. This grill is both portable and charcoal-powered so you can indulge your wanderlust and food snobbiness at the same time. The porcelain enamel coating staves off rust and it has 160 square inches of cooking space so you can feed a crew of friends easily.
THOM BROWNE x HARRY’S RAZOR
Designer Thom Browne has teamed up with grooming brand Harry’s on one of the coolest razors we’ve seen in a while. The handle is plated in 24K gold and features Browne’s signature red, white, and blue stripes. Even the burliest hipster lumberjack would be prompted to shave his beard with this thing. And proceeds from the sales of the razors, which are sold at Barneys, will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and the God’s Love We Deliver charity.
HYUNDAI VISION G
Price unavailable, hyundai.com
No, that isn’t the new Bentley Continental. It’s a Hyundai. Yes, a Hyundai. The Korean automaker revealed this new concept car as a sign of its luxury aspirations. From the looks of things, this could really change the average person’s perception of Hyundai. With a long hood and slingshot-like cabin, the Vision G is propelled by a 5.0-liter V8 engine capable of putting out 420 horsepower. If this ever makes it into production, Hyundai is going to need some less mellow than Jeff Bridges to voice the ad.
MINIMALUX BALLPOINT PEN
Here’s a ballpoint pen you won’t want to lose or let a friend borrow. Minimalux stayed true its name and created a minimal pen with lots of luxury. The sleek design is machined from a single piece of brass and then coated in 18K rose gold to create a writing instrument that is perfectly balanced and leaves a smooth fluid line.
CARHARTT WIP x RETROSUPERFUTURE DICKINSON
Carhartt WIP, the cooler little brother of the workwear giant, collaborated with eyewear brand Retrosuperfuture on a sweet collection of sunglasses. The Dickinson model is retro and modern at the same time, with their wayfarer-style half-frames handcrafted from Italian acetate that wrap around Carl Zeiss lenses.
