To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.

The Technics SL-1200 is one of the most iconic pieces of music equipment ever created. It’s right up there with the Fender Stratocaster. Without the Technics turntable, hip-hop probably wouldn’t be where it is today. But the company discontinued the model in 2010. But now a new Technics turntable is set to make a comeback. Parent company Panasonic revealed a prototype at the IFA trade show in Germany, and it sent vinyl aficionados into a tizzy. The new turntable could ship as soon as next spring.
RANGE ROVER SENTINEL
Hopefully you will never need to use the most distinctive feature of the Range Rover Sentinel, but you can still tell all your buddies about it. The Sentinel edition of the famed Range Rover is handmade in the UK and it is literally bulletproof. The SUV is built to withstand armor-piercing bullets and grenade explosions. The only people that really need that level of protection are probably heads of state and Suge Knight but that doesn’t make it any less awesome.
After seeing the benefits that custom insoles could have in ski and snowboard boots, the founders of Foot Flops were inspired to bring that same technology to sandals. Foot Flops are the first heat-molded, arch-supporting flip flops. You simply throw them in the oven at 200-250 degrees Fahrenheit, then stand in them for a few minutes and you’ve got sandals that are molded to meet the exact contours of your foot, and only your foot. They also have a cool, retro style owing to a webbing thong and classically-striped sole.
VHS CAMCORDER APP
The new iPhone 6S can shoot video in 4K, but sometimes higher and higher definition isn’t what you want. The VHS Camcorder app harkens back to a decidedly more lo-fi time when camcorders were massive and held equally large tapes (tapes!). The grainy video even has a time stamp on it like video cameras of yore. And as the App Store description says, you can use it to “Impress that girl you’re obsessed with by using our app to convince her you built a time machine.”
INCASE x KELLY SLATER ACTION PACK BUNDLE
Eleven-time world surfing champion Kelly Slater knows a thing or two about transporting gear into remote locales and has put that hard-earned knowledge into his signature backpack with Incase. In addition to the pack itself, which has a customized dividers and compartments to hold all your expensive camera equipment securely, the bundle includes a water-resistant kit specially designed to hold a GoPro. The kit even floats so you won’t be S.O.L. if it drops in the water. There is also a water-resistant and see-through pouch to hold all your cables and accessories.
