To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
VANS X TOY STORY OLD SKOOL
Even if you are not a fan of Toy Story (but seriously, how are you not a fan of Toy Story?), this Woody-inspired Vans Old Skool still looks dope regardless of its movie tie-in. The kicks have a cowhide and denim-patterned upper that looks especially sharp for fall. The best part is that the name “Andy” is scribbled on the bottom of the shoes, just like Woody’s boots.
HENNESSEY VELOCIRAPTOR 6X6
No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you. There are six wheels on Hennessey’s new upgrade to the Ford Raptor truck. Why are there six wheels? Why not? Let’s just say you won’t have trouble towing any boat smaller than a cruise ship. The Velociraptor 6x6 also has plenty of go, thanks to a 600+ horsepower upgrade to the engine, which features twin turbochargers. If this thing ever turns up in your rearview, move over to the right lane immediately.
SHINOLA X LEATHERMAN MULTI-TOOL
The classic Leatherman multi-tool has what you need for just about every situation you find yourself in. But for its collaboration with Shinola, the two brands found a way to make it look and function even better. On the appearance side, the tool has a beautiful anodized matte navy finish and comes packaged in a refined leather sheath. Then, Shinola, which is known for its timepieces and bicycles, added a tool for swapping out watch straps and a hex bit for adjusting bike components.
BOWERS & WILKINS P9 SIGNATURE
To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Bowers & Wilkins produced the luxurious P9 Signature headphones. The drivers are angled to produce a more natural sound, and the earcups, which are wrapped in a soft Italian leather, operate independently to reduce vibration. Right now, the P9 signature has a standard headphone plug, but a Lightning cable will ship for free early next year making it compatible with the iPhone 7.
TUMI 19 DEGREE CARRY-ON
When you’ve got a carry-on bag that looks this good, overhead bin space magically appears. Tumi’s new 19 Degree collection features a sculpted design that creates a sense of flow and movement even when it’s standing still. The contoured exterior protects what’s inside the two large mesh pockets with tie-down straps and the design even carries over to the luggage tag.
