To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
Beats By Dre first introduced its Pill speaker in 2012. A lot has changed since then, not the least of which is that the brand was acquired by Apple in 2014. The new Pill+ shows what the two brands can do together. The design is more elegant and feels right at home next to your MacBook Air and iPhone. The sound quality exceeds that of previous models and the battery can last for 12 hours.
BAMFORD WATCH DEPARTMENT COMMANDO SUBMARINER
The Rolex Submariner was already one of the coolest watches ever created. But the mad geniuses over at Bamford Watch Department figured out a way to make it more badass with this Commando customization. Using a special Graphite Particle Coating process, the watch achieves an incredible matte army green finish, and the treatment, which achieves near diamond-level hardness, actually makes the watch more durable.
THE BOB’S BURGERS BURGER BOOK
Burgers are awesome. And Bob’s Burgers is awesome. The two come together in the forthcoming cookbook that provides “real recipes for joke burgers.” Anyone can throw some ground beef on the grill and call it a burger, but it takes a true gourmand to make the “Bleu is the Warmest Cheese Burger” or the “Bruschetta-Bout-It Burger.” Unfortunately, your mouth will have to water a bit longer as the book doesn’t come out until March of next year.
THIS IS GROUND TECH DOPP KIT
In the realm of first-world problems, cable management is up there. Any one who has ever worked out of a coffee shop probably devised some jury-rigged contraption to carry your computer charger, phone charger, mouse, various dongles, headphones, and a whole slew of other accessories. That’s why This Is Ground created this dopp kit. Not to hold your toiletries, but to transport all your tech “stuff.” Each piece is handmade to order out of vintage leather in Los Angeles.
RUNA KLOCK DRINK ROCKS
Whiskey stones are nothing new. The idea of keeping a drink cold without diluting it as ice does when it melts is a great way to really taste the flavor of a spirit. But designer Runa Klock has elevated this drink rock into an art form with this collection of five stones in unique geometric patterns. The distinct nature of each rock means you’ll also have an easier time remembering which drink is yours.
