To quote Madonna (something I’m not particularly fond of), “We are living in a material world.” To help you figure out which of the millions of material goods swirling around us is worth spending your hard-earned cash on, we have put together The Want List, consisting of the items we really love this week.
There are any number of reasons why a pocket knife should be part of a guy’s everyday carry list. But it’s also easy to forget to throw it in your pocket. The WildCard is just a hair over 2mm thick and is designed to fit in your wallet, so you’ll always have it on you. The blade has a smooth and serrated edge and locks in both the open and closed positions. And if you forget to put it in your checked luggage when you fly, the blade detaches so you can keep the base of the multitool and replace it with a new blade later on.
Yes, this is a motorcycle that costs the same as some entry level supercars. But it is also about as close as you can get to a street-legal version of a MotoGP bike. Honda basically took the RC213V, which won the MotoGP championship in 2013 and 2014, tweaked the transmission and suspension slightly and put some headlights and a license plate frame on it. The bike allows a rider is able to achieve similar speeds and handling as the world’s best, so you might want to strap on that helmet extra tight.
ADIDAS DARK OPS CLEAT
These cleats pay tribute to the great Pat Tillman, the former football star who left the NFL to join the Army Rangers and was killed in the line of duty. The cleats are as badass as Tillman was. They have a canvas upper and camouflage sockliner and the outsole and stitching are reinforced with Kevlar.
LEVI’S x PENDLETON TRUCKER JACKET
It isn’t easy to improve on the Levi’s trucker jacket. It’s the quintessential jean jacket that everyone else tries to copy. But the folks at Levi’s managed to make their own jacket even better by collaborating with Pendleton and adding the brand’s famous wool in the lining complete with a print inspired by Native American designs. The wool lining means that you’ll be able to wear this coat much deeper into the winter than a traditional jean jacket.
The BALLOON LEATHER SITTING BALL
Everyone has that guy in the office who sits on an exercise ball instead of a chair and won’t shut up about the benefits to his posture and core strength. While you definitely don’t want to be that guy, the Balloon leather sitting ball might make you want to convert from your office chair. If you put one in your living room, just watch as your guests gravitate towards it. The ball is approximately two feet tall and covered in 3mm thick cowhide leather that is applied using traditional methods. The more you plant your butt on this thing, the more beautiful the patina that the leather takes on.
