If you haven’t been at E3 this week, you might actually have 40 minutes to kill watching IGN’s massive video of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain gameplay footage.
And if you need a little incentive, know this: there’s a dog with an eyepatch in it, and he’s awesome. You can bring him on missions, send him to tear out some throats, and then pet him so he knows what a good boy he is.
The video shows off the new Metal Gear Solid game’s more open-ended gameplay. There’s quite a bit of content here, showing not just the abilities of Snake’s pal D-Dog, but also how The Phantom Pain will handle as you sneak around the game’s open world.
Now to the Internet, where the rest of the year will be dedicated to arguing whether D-Dog or Fallout 4’s Dogmeat is the better digital companion.
