Last night’s Monday Night RAW marked the first time the WWE’s performers and fans had gathered since the great “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, a WWE Hall of Famer and one of the best heels in wrestling history, passed away at the age of 61.

As is tradition when a wrestling great falls, the WWE gathered its entire roster, including CEO Vince McMahon, on the RAW stage to pay silent tribute to Piper while the ring bell tolled 10 times. Then, a tribute reel ran, emphasizing Piper’s zest for life, his energy, his talent, and his love of the wrestling business. You can say “wrestling is fake” all you want, but Piper was a great entertainer, and this moving video will remind you why so many people loved him.
