A cannabis-infused energy shot is now for sale in Washington state—the first of its kind licensed by the Liquor Control Board. The honey-lemon flavored drink, known as ZootBlast, is blended with THC, yerba mate tea and guarana for a natural caffeine kick. The effect can be compared to drinking a Red Bull and vodka, but instead of making you feel jittery, the THC creates a sense of calm.
The shots are available in individual serving bottles of 5 or 10 milligrams of THC, with a 30-milligram shot coming soon. A three-pack of the individual bottles retails for $20 to $35. Locate stores that sell them (Washington state only) here. The shots could be available in Vancouver as early as next month.
Db3, the company behind ZootBlast, is the first company to obtain a producer and processor license from Washington state’s Liquor Control Board. The family-owned company grows its own marijuana and uses it to produce edibles, candies and energy drinks in a 25,000-square-foot facility in downtown Seattle.
