If you’ve got an intense passion for Halo and $300 you aren’t using, you might want to check out NECA Toy’s replica of one of the franchise’s most iconic—and often hated—alien guns: the Needler.
Fans of the series are familiar with the gun, which has had some serious ups and downs throughout the franchise. It fires heat-seeking pink crystal “needles” that stick in enemies and then explode. Sounds pretty awesome. But in its different iterations throughout the Halo games, the Needler has swung back and forth between being completely devastating and totally useless.
On the plus side, it’s always looked pretty sick, which is what makes it work as a toy. NECA’s model is decked out with lots of lights and is even motorized so that the needles sink into the gun, as if being drawn from the upper shell to be fired. And to get the Needler right, NECA worked closely with Microsoft and Halo studio 343 Industries, which didn’t invent the gun — that was the franchise’s original studio, Bungie—but did make it a halfway decent option in Halo 5: Guardians. If you feel the need for your own Needler, you can snag it here.
