If you are wondering where the next great horror film might be, look no further than XX. These two freshly released clips from the woman-helmed anthology give you a whiff of the horrors that await you in two of the film’s chapters—Don’t Fall and Her Only Living Son. On the one hand, you have a take on parenting that reminds one of a supernatural We Need to Talk About Kevin.
On the other, we have an education in the perils of RV camping—e.g. the threat of being interrupted by a zombie lady.
Rounding out the film, Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, makes her directorial debut with The Birthday Party, which has a surreal Harmony Korine vibe. Karyn Kusama focuses on child-based horror with Exorcist overtones called Her Only Living Son. Roxanne Benjamin focuses on the horrors surrounding RV camping with Don’t Fall; and Jovanka Vuckovic uses starving children to create horror in The Box. XX will hit select theaters, Video on Demand, iTunes and Amazon on February 17.
